Who We Are
At Anchor’s Drop, we’re more than just a place to stay — we’re a family-run retreat with deep roots in the Somerset coast.
We’re Marcus and Cara, and this is both our home and our passion. Together with our three dogs, we live here full time, caring for the property and welcoming guests to enjoy it as much as we do. Between us we have six grown-up children, and Anchor’s Drop has always been a place for family, laughter, and togetherness.
Now that our children are grown, we want others to experience the same — whether it’s a seaside escape, a celebration, or simply time to slow down and reconnect.
When you stay here, you’ll often see us around the grounds or in the shop — happy to share local tips, stories about the area, or simply a friendly hello. Our goal is to make every guest feel relaxed, cared for, and part of the Anchor’s Drop story.

Location
Great location, fantastic well equipped property, with a shop next door which was a real bonus. The garden is the stand out feature with the most amazing views .
Anchor’s Drop is perfectly positioned on the West Somerset coast, nestled between the harbourside town of Watchet and the seaside resort of Minehead. We’re just a 40-minute drive from Taunton or Bridgwater.
